Perdebee Shiraz

Colder weather calls for warmer reds and this one’s a gem. Made from the Shiraz grape, the cooler region of Darling in South Africa’s Western Cape brings out its spicy side. A little rough around the edges but it works in a kind of earthy way. You have to be a member of the Wine Society to buy it but the one-off lifetime membership costs £40 and once you’re in, there are plenty of really good value wines to choose from.
