School’s Out For Summer (nearly)

Two more days until school’s out. So, here’s a little vlog I did for Britmums on the topic of summer holidays. Question is, lazy days approach or boot camp approach? Here’s my slightly rambling answer…

It’s Albarino and ‘Enders for me tonight. Will post wine this week’s wine recommendations tomorrow night.

  1. Love it! I agree that kids should figure out how to entertain themselves without their Mums organising everything. Admittedly that might mean a fair amount of tv watching and laptop viewing and PS3 hitting, but I guess that's part of modern entertainment. And if they get bored? So what! I don't think it's a proper holiday until they get bored, and when they do you know they are ready to go back to school.

  2. Lovely vlog! I think there's a lot to be said for doing nothing. I remember that too about the summer holidays – in particular I remember lying in my bunk bed reading comics like 'Bunty'.

Mine are at summer day camp now, but we had a couple of weeks before it started where we basically just hung around the house and went swimming in the late afternoon. I think they were quite bored, but it was different from term-time, for sure.

  3. Vix – Thank you! I do try and organise a few things along the way but the thought of a full diary before we even start the holidays makes me come out in a cold sweat.

NVG – Oh! Bunty! Remember doing the very same thing…Despite saying I don't organise days to the minute, the idea of sending them to camp for a week is utterly HEAVENLY. When can they come?!
