Bored Meeting

Poor Prof. Kelly, trying to keep a straight face during a live TV interview about South Korean politics, knowing that behind him his children have crashed the party. I’ve watched this clip so many times and it still makes me laugh. And slightly curl my toes, having been on work calls whilst trying to ignore the 3 ft Power Ranger in the room. Or in the car, silently handing out Haribos, hoping the grown ups on the other end of the call won’t notice. But my favourite thing about that video is the daughter, Marion, with her bright yellow jumper and matching attitude. According to Prof. Kelly, she was in a ‘hippity-hoppity’ mood. I’ll have what she’s having. Haribos, probably.

Current white in the fridge: Macon Aze

Price: £7.00 - Buy From Morrisons

A lot of white Burgundy comes with a hefty price tag; not this one. It’s normally £10 but it’s currently on offer until next month so definitely worth trying if you like your whites crisp, dry and lemony. There’s a touch of honeysuckle about it too. Made from the Chardonnay grape (as is almost all white Burgundy), it’s simply gorgeous. And fab with fish pie.

Current liqueur in the glass: Conker Spirit Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur

Price: £30 - Buy From Solent Cellar

I love coffee. In fact, I’m pretty much fuelled by it (until it’s wine time, obviously). But coffee liqueur? The only time I drink that is in an Espresso Martini. So when I saw a bottle of Conker’s Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur on the Insta feed of my local wine shop, the brilliant Solent Cellar, I nearly choked on my double-shot latte. A friend dropped in for supper last night and we had a small shot each, over ice. Ohmigod, gorgeous. With no additives or thickeners, it’s properly fresh and the flavours are so smooth. Wonderful stuff. See the Conker website for a full list of stockists.

    Hello Helen,

Just to let you know I have been to Morrisons in Harrogate to buy the Macon which I found but it was priced at £9, maybe they have different prices in different places? Pox x

Weird, still £7 online, was it definitely the Macon Aze? There’s also a Macon, different wine…horribly confusing!
