I’m not sure what day it is, the fridge is practically empty (despite having filled it with panic-bought food a few days ago) and the washing is out of control. And I have to be honest, I kinda like it. Now, I’m going to have a couple of weeks off but just to warn you when I’m back I’ll be talking about my new book Homemade Cocktails A LOT. It’s available for pre-order here now, out next month and I can’t wait to share more with you. But for now, here’s to embracing the chaos. Chin chin x
Current sparkling in the fridge: Terroir de la Baume Cremant de Limoux
Price: £9.32 - Buy From Ocado
Normally £13.99, this is on offer at the moment and I’d take two bottles of this over a £20 bottle of champagne, tbh. Made from two of the three classic champagne grapes (Pinot Noir & Chardonnay) along with some Chenin Blanc, it’s more fruity than Prosecco, less serious than Champagne. And relatively cheap as chips. Fabulous.
Current red in the rack: Quinta do Ataíde Altano Organic Red
Price: £8.79 - Buy From Waitrose
Love this super smooth Portuguese red made from some of the grapes usually used to make that other great wine from the Douro, Port. It’s full of juicy bramble fruit flavours, a bit like Malbec with the volume turned up. Another one currently on offer so get in there quick if you want to get it for under a tenner.
