I thought I could take it or leave it. You know, dip in and out as and when it suited me. But before I knew it I was in too deep. And now it’s a full on obsession. Yes, I know it’s ridiculous but I just can’t help myself. And now, if you don’t mind I’m off to watch the next episode of Love Island. With a massive glass of wine, obviously.
Current white in the fridge: Abbott’s & Delaunay Fruits Sauvage Sauvignon Blanc
Price: £7.99 - Buy From Majestic
A fruity take on the Sauvignon Blanc grape thanks to a generous dose of Languedoc sunshine, where the wine’s made. There’s passion fruit, flowers and a big squeeze of lemon in there, along with refreshing crispness to balance it all out. Really smart wine for the money, you could take to friends’ for dinner and they’ll think you’ve spent more than you actually have.
Current red in the rack: Maris Organic Shiraz
Price: £3.49 - Buy From Waitrose
God, apologies for the photo but there isn’t one online yet so this is my recently-polished-off-and-slightly-squished can (had to retrieve it from the recycling bin for the shot). Anyway, this is a brilliant, juicy southern french red. And it’s organic. AND IT’S IN A CAN. That’s this year’s camping/picnic wine sorted.
